The Exclusive Strings present their new show 2008: ‘where East meets West’
This will be thé show in 2008 for your prestigious parties or business events !
The Exclusive Strings, 4 fashionable violinists with as many european nationalities (Spanish, French, Bulgarian and Belgian) together with eastern civilization (Taiko and a swordsman).
This combination has never been on stage before !
Taiko is the art of japanese drumming. Translated literally, Taiko means ‘fat drum’. Real Taiko is a way of life, a spiritual quest. Performing taiko is with the whole body, mind and spirit included. Taiko is not only music you can hear, but you can see the powerful muscle movements. You can feel the profound sound of the taiko through your entire being.
Taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan) is a chinese martial art. The motion technique of this ‘swordsman’ is based upon the philosophy of Yin and Yang (a constant change of movements strung together to express a ‘dance’ or a form). Taiji Sword (or Jian in chinese) is practised by a lot of Taiji’s to absorbe the matter. It is not only the first time this combination is on stage (the rough swordsman and the beautiful, lyrical ‘Strings’) but it is also a caress for eyes and … ears.
Next April 2008, a tour of this show is planned in the ‘Land of the rising sun’ …The Exclusive Strings – Taiko – Taijiquan – The Olympics in Beijing! 4 pillars of succes! The try-out takes place on October 18th 2007 in the prestigious Palace of Fine Art in Brussels. A demo dvd is available on November 1st 2007. The Exclusive Strings’ kick off The Avant-Première took place in the famous Queen Elisabeth Hall in Antwerp, the 3rd and 4th of February 2006 (2 full houses) accompanied by the “Heverband” big showorchestra (www.heverband.com). They were top of the bill in the Casino of Knokke on the 25th of March 2006, on the biggest hollywoodstyle party of 'the Night of Exclusief' (in fact this was their official debut). The Exclusive Strings pass their 100 th performance within their first year. Unknown one year ago, now The Exclusive Strings are a notion in showbiz world… Spanish Nancy Tormo, French Blandine Moreau, Bulgarian Elena Lavrenov and Belgian Larissa Lismont got a lot of support from famous people. The eccentric designer Nicky Vankets created their exclusive concert outfit and Yamaha Europe sponsors the stylish and hip electric violins.The management is in the capable hands of Jan Ceulemans, the man behind the showorchestra “Heverband”, known in and outside Belgium. After the avant première in the Queen Elisabethall in Antwerp last year and the real première in the casino of Knokke on “the night of exclusive” they were ready to conquer. What were the expectations? Would the public like the concept ? How many performances would they have after one year? The answer is no doubt … amazing! Twelve months after the official start we count 121 shows! Which band can take credit for that? Until now the girls had to combine their (classical) studies at the conservatory with a lot of shows inland and abroad. Now that this chapter is succesfully closed they can switch into higher gear. After the Benelux they will try to charm Europe , we contacted a famous top choreographer to join our team.
