Blandine Moreau Valentin, viola
1. Name:
Moreau Valentin
2. First name:
Blandine
3. Date of birth:
November 25 th 1979 (sagitarius), French nationality.
4. How long have you played the violin?
I started to play the violin at the age of 6 at the “Conservatoire Municipal de Béziers”. Later I started to study the viola at the national conservatory of Montpellier, because I loved the warm sound of this instrument, where I I obtained my gold medal mentioning “very good”
5. Brothers and sisters:
I am the eldest of four : two girls and two boys. There is difference of four and a half years between the eldest and the youngest. My parents are childminder in France and we were never alone at home.
6. Musical inheritance from:
My parents enroled me in the conservatory when I was very young, because being amateur musicians playing piano and guitar, their goal was to set up a mini orchestra with the family, too bad I was the only one who wanted to continue to make it my profession.
7. Who influenced you in your music?
My parents and professors encouraged me to continue my studies.
8. Are you busy fulltime with your music?
Yes, music is a real passion to me and I think a lot of people, even non musians, can imagine it. To me life without music is not the same, we are surrounded with music : in the car, when we go shopping, at parties. When you decide to continue professionally in this direction, you are often faced with encouraging judges or even discouraging. The difference between these musicians, will be those who will continue no matter what, to get what they want. The secret is to never let go and to believe in yourself, because the only one who knows is you.
9. Favourite artist:
I’m eclectic, I love all kinds of music as soon as I start to move. I’m a big, big fan of the comic Gad Elmaleh! I hope to see one of his shows soon.
10. Are you ambitious?
I am very ambitious in life. When I was young, I worked every summer and later combined with my studies I worked for all the things I wanted, I am proud to say that I succeeded to get there. Our education was like that. Afterwards I moved to Belgium, to improve myself with sir Pierre-Henri Xuereb, viola professor at “conservatoire national supérieur de Paris” and I want to thank my husband Joël who left everything behind to be with me.
11. How do you spend the day?
I finished my studies at the Royal Conservatory of Liège since June 2007 where I obtained my diploma for viola as well as my teacher’s degree. I will teach in academies or conservatories in combination with The Exclusive Strings and play my viola everyday.
12. What do you want to achieve with your music?
Since I was a child, my goal was to be a music professor, because I love children, but most of all to pass on what I have learned. To me it is a real passion to teach and always look for the best means to make the pupil, in the quickest way, understand what I expect from him. I hope that the concerts with the Exclusive Strings will always be a meeting with the public as warm as it was in the beginning, because it gives us a different experience other than classical concerts. Playing chamber music as well as performing with an orchestra will always be one of my favourite projects. Long live music and long live The Exclusive Strings.
